We’ve had a great bite this past month inshore and nearshore! The water is considerably warm right now and the concentration of fish have been along the intracoastal waterway and near the inlet. The deeper water around docks and drop offs have been holding good numbers of mangrove snapper, flounder and redfish! Use a mud minnow, shrimp or a mullet pinned onto a 3/8oz jig and a work the bottom very slowly. The mullet run should start to kick off and this will get all different species of fish fired up. The inlet and sewalls close to downtown have been holding lots of jack crevalles and lady fish and a few tarpon.
The nearshore bite has been very good for kingfish, flounder and big redfish! Mullet and pogies will do the trick for these fish!
