April is one of my favorite months to fish! Some of the most pleasant weather of the year mixed in with some excellent inshore and nearshore fishing! The bite has consisted of cobia, redfish, trout, flounder, ladyfish, jacks and some monster bluefish! Redfish have been very active chasing
the mullet schools that have recently showed up in numbers along the intra coastal waterway and in the creeks. There have also been some very nice trout around on the higher falling tide that we have been targeting with popping corks with a live shrimp or mud minnow or a top water lure early!
The cobia have shown up on the beach following the manta ray migration and have also been on some of the close near shore wrecks! Large numbers of pogies are holding along the beach as well that have attracted bull reds, large jack crevalle’s, sharks and cobia!
